About Megan Cline
I was born and raised in Sonoma Valley, where I grew up as one of seven (!) children. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara, I dove into the world of wine, studying for and achieving my Sommelier certification. After that, I spent six months traveling through New Zealand in a camper van, took photos of anything and everything, and finally moved back to the Valley where I grew up and am lucky to call my home.
Photography, for me, has always been a way to tell stories: both to communicate my own impressions of the world, documenting the people and places I meet along the way, but also to tell the stories of my friends, family and clients. Images are immensely powerful, especially today, and I love helping people express themselves through a visual medium. My approach to photography is informed by a focus on storytelling, and by a warm, candid aesthetic. My aim is to capture the essence of a subject, whether that subject is an early-morning vineyard blanketed with fog, a family gathering and laughing together for a holiday photo, or just a really delicious-looking grilled-cheese sandwich.
I’ve had over 6 years experience with all manner of photography: engagement sessions, author photos, family portraits, event photography, travel + adventure, product photography, and landscapes. My work has appeared in places like The New York Times, Wine Spectator, US News and Travel, Sonoma Magazine, The Paris Review Daily, Wine County This Week and Decanter Magazine.
Other things I love: puns/dad jokes, potatoes, wine, puzzles
